When I was about nine I befriended a young Swiss boy by the name of Urs. Urs lived around the corner and it was fun to have a friend who spoke poor English, with funny toys, stinky food and parents with odd hair cuts. Anyway, Urs and I only had the chance to be friends for a couple of weeks before his parents announced they were going to return to Switzerland. You see, Urs was going to be my new best-friend but now he was leaving. Not having the emotional tools to deal with such a blow, due to my own mummy and daddy issues, I responded in the worse way possible. I told Urs, we never were friends and I was glad he was leaving. Urs ran home crying and I was unsure what to do. So, I went home also. The next day still feeling terrible, I walked around to Urs' house to try and make amends in the best way a nine year old Welsh boy with emotional ineptitude can. But Urs and his family were long gone.

What I'm trying to say EV and Prag, is F*ck you! F*ck you both!!

Ah man, I was hoping we could live in your backyard when we got back. You know, just a week to three months.

Last night's show of Willie Nelson in Bend.
Seats so close i could smell the Ben Gay.
Unbelievably good performance.
At one point the stage was back-lit with lightning...Willie, all 80 years of him, stood there, as a driving rain whipped across the stage, and a warm wind whipped water and his wispy hair across his aged face....stood there...and wailed on that old guitar....
I have seen Willie more than any other single acts, not by design...just accident really...but last night...was one of 'those' Willie shows.....the ones that have made him a legend...

Found my new favorite band, or my favorite new band... Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses....as they opened up for Willie...that were damn good...

The wife lies sleepily, dogs snoozing on the couch, daughter below decks texting boys I am sure, and it is pouring rain outside. A rain, I hope to be strong enough to hold the deer down tonight so that maybe they will be up and around tomorrow while I stalk about in the woods with a sharp stick and a string....

Meeeee effing to.

Also pretty stoked that he was Meritoriously promoted in a combat zone. Going to look pretty foxy at the USMC Ball this year...until you see his haggard old hootch on an O2 machine tipping back the flask and sneaking pictures of random cleavage in the crowd.
The service here sucks.

First snow of the year today. High temp 30. We just got rid of the last snow from last year a couple weeks ago. They used it to make cross country trails for people eager to get a jump on the season.

There is a chance, albeit a small chance, that I'll get a job in Victoria which would be a good sight better than Vancouver.
