Censorship on Oregonsurf?

So when the exchange starts becoming a little serious and real it gets called a rant and moved to a different forum that I've never even looked at before?

I'm sure this isn't a deliberate act of censorship, I'll give the mods the benefit of the doubt. But perhaps a discussion of where to draw the line is in order.

I think it's cool that oregonsurf is one place where people of obviously diverse political leanings can share ideas. I don't know about you guys but it seems to me like open-mindedness is becoming a rare commodity these days. I express myself the best I can and I am more than willing to consider what you have to say, provided its about something real. (I really don't give a rats @ss about south park or the sopranos)

Of course I reserve the right to decide the merits of the points, but sure, let's get it on.

So the question for me is exactly when does a thread get relegated to "localism and rants" from the "general surf chat" forum?

In case it wasn't clear, I'm referring to the "refugee" and "say goodbye to the national weather service" threads.

It gets moved to the "rants & localism" thread when it stops being about "general surf". Both threads started out about surfing in general.....then quickly spiraled into political discussions......thus, they were moved. If they had stayed on topic.....there wouldn't have been any problem. (I suppose....I could've moved them to "Off-topic Forum".....would that have been better?) You're relatively new to this page. Past political discussions have a tendancy to escalate into personal attacks. Been there....done that. We don't want a repeat. The moving of the thread has nothing to do with my political preferance or anyone elses for that matter. (I don't give a rats azz who you align yourself with.) There have been way too many gremlins running around this board as of late......and people are tired of it. Get back to discussing surfing. Simple as that.

And as for your not looking at another forum? You mean to tell me.....you're on this page posting and you limit yourself to the "general surf chat" aspect? C'mon....live a little.

Censorship?????? Oh hell yes, big time. I had an entire post deleted begging my "refugee" thread be deleted because orriginal and leo surfschool had turned it into a little girl argument. No bad language, just a request that they start their own " I hate you" thread......GONE.
And what is up with the spelling corrections of words like, shite, @ss and f@#K?
I don't mind being censored by someone who is smarter than me or more well versed in the subject I'm talking about, but by some college computer dork? BLOW ME!

I would watch it Hard Rail. Nmm is no computer geek. I meet her and would never want to be on her bad side. Oh and the word censorship is automatic, when you type it and send it it filters out the inappropriate words. Or better yet just don't cuse in the first place and you will never get censored.
