What stoketh thee...

This forum is for SURF topics such as localism and rants that are usually negative in nature. If you're a baby, complainer, or generally think you're right and everyone else is wrong this is the place for you. PLEASE NOTE, all forum rules still apply, but just a little more liberally enforced. Registration is required.

Ronnie Burns vids always got me stoked!

I like making stuff now. The drop, a turn, a surfboard. Just stuff.

Watching an old movie and catching a glimpse of a wave peeling off in the background! Sometimes that stoke goes away when you realize that that wave went away due to a breakwater or whatnot, but still, seeing it and realizing that you are the only one getting excited about it is pretty cool.

Going to a bluegrass show and hearing one of the best versions of Walk Don't Run gives me goosepimples.

Delivering pizza to a trailer with a plywood door and getting a $5 tip.

Then delivering pizza to a $500K house and getting stiffed.

I know exactly how that feels, makes you want to pee on their Benz on the way back to the car.

Painting wave scenes kept me stoked through the past winter's miserable surf season.

hogging camp sites at short sands. BBQ, surf session, BBQ and beers, surf session followed by another BBQ and some beers around the fire. Waking early to do it again.

scoring waves on my new balsa surfboard, finding old friends in the line up, sharing waves, then topping it all off with the discovery of more long-lost friends on the beach who hand me a cold PBR before i even have time to get out of my wetsuit. oh, and it is sunny out.

My girlfriend telling me, "If I'm staying over and some morning (compadre) calls you to go surfing. I think you should go. I don't want you to stay for me."

Give her once....maybe two times of you taking advantage of that generous consideration before she wakes up alone feeling jealous and resentful. Then will begin her work of attempting to make you feel selfish and guilty every time you surf, whether it cuts in on your time with her or not.

Ask any of these guys who are married, just the way it works.

Hey Intrepid, you already had a glimpse of Christmas future with me. Blonde's right. It's cool at first then you become some juvenile, selfish jerk just because you want to go surfing once a month. God Speed, Brother.
