weird, i was listening to NOFX's Coaster yesterday too...

it's decent at best...

then i listened to Heavy Petting Zoo...solid album

now i'm listening to an older Less Than Jake album...it goes hand in hand w/ the sunshine

havent listened to Coaster enough to form a real opinion, but I was listening to it yesterday as well.

Heavy Petting Zoo is so damm crisp and tight. Not a sound out of place on that album. Just power. I love NOFX's old stuff but that album blew me away when it came out. Great lyrics (as always) too.

White Trash, Two Heebs, and a Bean is my all time fave. Got to see them in a Basement in Salem once. It's was unreal!

My NOFX favs are prob: Ribbed, White Trash Two Heebs and a Bean, and Punk in Drublic. They are one of my fav post hardcore punk bands. Although thier newer stuff hasent really done it for me, thier old stuff always does the trick when I am I that mood.

Those are all good, but no love for "So Long and Thanks For All The Shoes"? I love that album..But hands down their greatest release is The Decline even if it is only 18 minutes long.

And just the album art on Heavy Petting Zoo makes it legit! A dude bangin' a sheep!

I might have to lay some MXPX Teenage Politics or Let It Happen out on the Rhapsody today...bringin' it all back!

Don't get me wrong.. these albums you list are the classics. Im just saying Heavy Petting Zoo was a sonic blast and I love it.

I have found that the newer stuff seems to grow on me over time. It's not the instant love I had for the older stuff, but some of it is pretty damm good. Songs like Separation of Church and Skate or Idiots are Taking Over are pretty incredible and get me very amped...

Separation of Church and Skate

and Snows.. The Decline is without a doubt the best 18 minute rant ever recorded.

I like H.P.Z. those are just my favs. Acutally really like The Longest Line EP as well and the live album rips! Seen em a few times, all good shows.

Grand Duchy - Petits Fours

This is the band Frank Black started with his wife (they live here in Eugene) and the album that came out 2 weeks ago is pretty solid... they start their tour for the show here in Eugene this weekend. Stoked!

When Epitaph started churning out formulaic punk in the early 90s... Just an opinion but to me that stuff sounds way too polished and manufactured. Nofx sound like a boy-band these days. May as well listen to the Jonas Brothers.
