Uh, GROSS income of 100 Kfor a family of four? Before all the deductions?
I see you've really done your research. That would be considered rich in Panama, I suppose.

excellent, that makes me feel even better. As a Journeyman wage earner with Union representation and working my freakin @ss off in a skilled tade, the best I could ever crack was 42k. I am doing a little better than that now, but not much. I didn't realise I was not even close to middle class. Hey, and I am supporting a family of four on my single income!

I'm not crying, but my purchasing power is nil. Without side jobs (Yes, I'm a licensed contractor) I wouldn't make it month to month. If I lose my job, it will be one month to the day that the whole house of cards falls in on itself for me and my family.

Hi, my name is Craig, and I am your tax base.

Your are in the classic gilded cage. Don't make enough to advance, but make enough to keep paying you debt and taxes = monetary system slave.

The American dream is just another propaganda device used by the power elite to entice people into the trap. Home ownership is illusion designed to hook us up to the debt system. You never really own your home or anything really. Only the people at the top actually own things.

Of course you can set yourself free at any time, but fear keeps you in place. It really is a beautifully conceived plan for domination.

Meanwhile the ability to actually free yourself from the system is getting more and more limited as the system overwhelms and intertwines itself into almost every aspect of our lives. Our cage is getting smaller and smaller.

I guess the big question is what can we do about it?

For my part as I guess I would say stop playing the game as much as you can. Take your money out of the stock market. Take you money out of the bank. Stop using your credit cards. Use cash only ar money orders if you have to. Above all, learn to live within your means.

I think a big portion of being happy and living with what you have, is to stop turning everything in the world into a conspiracy theory. It may or may not be a conspiracy, but your not going to stop any of it. Just acknowledge it, quietly adjust things to avoid having to be a part of it and live your life.

I am tring to think of any paid recreationalist whose opinion would matter to me....

I can't think of any.

I get the sentiment, but it's rhetoric. Better fodder for bumperstickers, not really a solid foundation for supporting a family.

Is paid recreationalist a pseuodonym for physical education teacher?

If so, I'm with ya. I mean, 60K a year to hand out pickle ball rackets. They don't even do the most difficult part of their job, taking attendance, they have a student do that, LOL.

Words of wisdom Blue. There is so much misinformation out there on every side - It is hard to know what to think.
