I'm a union man
Just like my daddy and all my kin
I took a union stand
No matter what the company said
I got me two good hands
And just as long as I'm able I won't give in
'Cause I'm a Harlan man
A coal minin' mother 'til the day I'm dead.......
If we can't be free, at least we can be cheap.....

I'm in a union now and I'm very happy we unionized. The numerous f*cktards that have owned us the last 6 years have driven this place into the ground in the name of ROI. Lord knows they would've f*cked us harder until we were spitting teeth if we hadn't.

So pro, if you gotta know.

I do agree the grocery clerks probably don't need a Union, but I'm willing to bet it was started because most large chains were similar to walmart in the way they treat employees.

Why would you say that? Only skilled blue collar workers (read the already unionized cronies, and recipients of the nepotism rife in the guild) are worthy of union protection? Let's make three working classes, the haves, the haves union, and the scum.

I think the Wobbly's may have their day after all.

Yeah um.. they have tried to Unionize Walmart you tard. Walmart is very good about getting around and shutting that talk down, just like they are good at getting away with paying below minimum wage because the fines still are cheaper to pay than the workers!

Vidalia onions are sweet scabs. I'll stand with red onions any day, they're like brothers to me.

If that's trying they'll never unionize another business again. Cursory effort at best.

Sorry I hurt your feelings. Must be the drugs again. Had I intended to I would have used the full word "retard". I'll put it in parenthesis to keep it clearer.

Union abuses benefit workers, lots of workers.
CEO abuses benefit only themselves.

Sure unions have problems, but they're the only chance the little guy has.

A dedicated Teamsters union worker was attending a convention in Las Vegas and decided to check out the local brothels. When he got to the first one, he asked the Madam, “Is this a union house?”

“No,” she replied, “I’m sorry it isn’t.”
“Well, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?”

“The house gets $80 and the girls get $20,” she answered.

Offended at such unfair dealings, the union man stomped off down the street in search of a more equitable, hopefully unionized shop. His search continued until finally he reached a brothel where the Madam responded, “Why yes sir, this is a union house. We observe all union rules.”

The man asked, “And if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?” “The girls get $80 and the house gets $20.”

“That’s more like it!” the union man said. He handed the Madam $100, looked around the room, and pointed to a stunningly attractive blond.

“I’d like her,” he said.
“I’m sure you would, sir,” said the Madam. Then she gestured to a
92-year old woman in the corner, “but Ethel here has 67 years seniority and according to union rules, she’s next.”

Wilbur, is that a bad thing that the little guy get a some leverage on the big whigs?

Seems to me, a lot of people earning a decent wage is better in every way for society (meaning me) than having that money concentrated in a couple of pockets. A decent job means less crime, less social problems, less people my taxes have to support.
