I watched that piece a few weeks ago and I have to say I wanted to hate it. My cynical heart wanted to say, these 'hipsters' were cheapening that animals life by trying to make pretentious art out of it but man it was pretty moving.

Beyond that it was also crucial viewing. Death is such a taboo. People just don't discuss it, deal with it or face it until they are forced to. We need encounters like this.

i found this the other day. It is a series of potraits of dying people, shorty before and after death... amazing.

I perfer to celebrate life and remember what the deceased have taught while they were alive rather than dwell on how they died. We should all be so lucky as to have a story to leave behind.

Thanks nm for posting that. I lost my dog this year to cancer and it was pretty hard. Dogs are so much more than just animals.

Not that that's ever happened before.
