any mountain bikers?

Postby speelyei » Sat Mar 27, 2010 3:53 pm

i'm a newb to mtn biking... went and rode syncline with my brother, it was a lot of fun. i couldn't help but notice, though, that if you come flying down the main trail, there's one spot where it would be easy to fly off the 800 foot drop... I'm not a big fan of signs or fences, but it seemed like some notice could save a life... anybody know where i'm talking about?

Never seen a sign or fence on some of those nasty reefs either. I guess I'd assume if I was mountain biking on the side of a mountain I might fall off said mountain. I also imagine there's the equivilant of a kook in that sport, and seeing one flying off the side of the mountain is akin to seeing someone go over the falls at pipe, interesting, sad, and humerous all at the same time.

I used to do a lot of mountain biking, I love it (esp. the downhill part with decent, full suspension).
But I haven't been in years, was just telling the wife the other day how much I wanted to get another bike.

yes, a new bike can be a beautiful thing. I have been rolling around on my old "sherpa pro" hard-tail hard-fork 1993 bike for a while... My brother has some bro-deals that can be exploited, and I got a Felt hard tail with a fancy-schmanschy fork through him. The difference is unreal.

Nice on the deals.
I've been looking at some of the carbon fiber Cannondale's, Schwinn's and some of the Trek's.

Little moab at syncline does have a nice memorial where local Jeff Johnson fell to his death while riding. Cliffs are scary but fences are ugly and not needed so take heed and stay on the trail.
