kitesurf vs windsurf

kitesurf vs windsurf

anyone have opinions on these.
i will likely be taking one of these up/on... leaning toward kitesurf... that is if i don't buy a jetski or boat.

Doesn't it take an hour and a half to gear up for kitesurfing.

It's usually windier.

Seem's like windsurfing would be more practical and in the spirit of watermanship. The idea of going so far out that you can't see land is pretty intriguing. Or windsurfing all the way to Mexico would be a worthy goal.
