I like subarus, and I think mini-vans are cool surf rigs (sooloo's rig might be too cool for me). I had one of these for a number of years and loved it.

To each his own.

BTW. I really like my rig now. I'd try and persuade you towards a Jeep, but it looks like your heading down the road of wagons.

Is that the toyota? I drove a Nissan Stanza like that for a couple of years. Thing could go anywhere.....and still does. I gave it to my nephew for his 15th birthday.

To be honest, I had a subaru that broke down constantly. Once time going so far as to have the front axle freeze up on my while coming down the N side of Cascade head. It was interesting to say the least. It was an early 90's version.
Have had two other friends gladly resale theirs as they were unhappy with them. CV joints going out often if memory serves me correct. One had a coil issue after something like 50,000k. As i recall one gave it up happily for a VWsyncro (SP?) and the other for something I dont remember. The initial turn on was the 4wd wagon factor that wasnt so played out then.
The times have moved on.

I see some squashing of your Subarus in the near future.

When these head lights fill your rearview, and you hear the whine of the diesel turbo...my suggestion is...move.

Fish's new ride....

I own one of these currently. One of the greatest cars ever for me. gets 30+ mpg, can wheel it out onto the South Beach Jetty in the "crawl" gear with ease, easy engine to work on (hasn't been too necessary except for that burnt valve wheeling out onto the South Beach Jetty) and it picks up chicks like nothing else out there. If you find one of these with less than 150K on it, pick it up or PM me.

And acctually Subaru's have been in my family for generations. We are Alaskan,.. Subarus have 4 doors, 4 wheel drive and a lot of cargo space. On top of this, the cars last so long they rust off the frame before the engine goes. Other than subarus, our cars were snowmobiles and Chevy Suburbans.
Personally I've never owned a subaru, but I've driven one or two I'd own.
no offense fish, i'd take just about anything over a dodge - just from what i've seen with everyone else that's owned one... well i should say financed one,, the trucks never lasted long enough for them to be owned
