I've made about 8 of them and my favorite is 19.5" x 9.25 x 3/8", pintail. I've made fish tail and square also and like this one best when it's hollow. Let me know how the finger holds go. I use a nylon webbing strap so my hand is flat on the handplane, which seems more natural for paddling. You can really fly down the wave with them, have fun!

Posted: Tue Dec 22, 2009 3:53 pmJust carved a quiver of hand planes for an upcoming trip to warm water w/ friends. Figure we can pass them around for another way to fark around in the shorepound. The bigguy stinger still needs a handle. THink I'm going to use a retired kiteboard footstrap that I have yet to track down.
