New OSP Rule?

Yes, this is a surfpage, but many of us like to discuss non-surf related issues amongst fellow surfers. Here's the place to do it. Registration is required.

Should Spot Naming be an OSP offense?

Yes. You should be chastized and caned.

No. I would not know where to surf without it.

if a spot never breaks, is it still a spot?

If people surf at a location frequently, with poorly shaped waves, shifting sand, with unpredictable currents and patterns, is that still a spot?

If a random location breaks once for several hours, and you happen to be there, does it then become a "spot"?

I think if, it has a wave and you paddle out and get it, its a spot and shouldnt be named.
Whats funny is all the info passed around through pm's....you know who you are!

I don't believe in spot naming...or sensorship. Just keep it the way it is.

I'm a fan of the 'group taking care of itself' mentality. Back when I started posting I dropped a spot name and Dub was nice enough to pm me and explain the unwritten rules. I say give em one shot then let the flogging begin.

How funny, there actually is a "G spot" surf place on the North Oregon coast. Sharky as hell though. Been chased out a few times there.
