Weed can land you hard time! DUI, not so much, DUI and manslaughter, apparently not as well. My family has been deeply deeply impacted by a drunk driver. The accident happened in the 70's, took the lives of 2 family members and the mental effects of it have reverberated through the generations as family took thier grief out on family becuase some were not able to move on.

YOUNG REPUBLICANS

Young republicans on college campuses:

Should there be such a thing?

Isn't there a war going on?

It’s your war.

Drop out of school! Get in there!

You don't want poor kids from rural communities fighting to protect your interests, Do you?

Don’t you believe your wealthy because you're smarter, and you’ve worked harder

Look at your leader, Gee Dub-yu. The only reason he got into Yale and graduated is because he worked harder and he was smarter

Since your smarter and you work harder, wouldn’t you do a better job fighting the war

On second thought, there may be a reason you send the poor from rural communities to fight your wars

They're probably more used to hardship

I mean it’s not the first time they’ve experienced hunger, sleep deprivation, death,........and you?

Well you work harder, and your smarter, but you’ve never struggled

You can still stand by your convictions., though.

They’re selling 99 cent stickers at walmart

Don’t your parents own stock in Walmart

There you go. Slap that sticker on your SUV. You’re done; you did your part. Go to the crystal cathedral. Watch that preacher on the big screen, jumping around and cracking jokes like Dane Cook.

Have a laugh.

You’re still going to heaven,

Good Christian.

Well considering I have already lost someone in Iraq that was a year ahead of me in high school (only 1200 students) and I know several other classmates that have served over there I guess I live in a poor rural community. They were all excited to have a chance to serve their country. And they did not go because they could not afford to go to college. Jake who was in my year is one of the funniest guys that I went to school with not to mention an amazing runner.

pickleweed wrote:Don’t you believe your wealthy because you're smarter, and you’ve worked harder

Well I am not wealthy yet, I am a broke college student without any health benefits. But don't make the mistake of ever thinking that I am not a bit of an environmentalist. I am a Natural Resource major who has a major beef with OHV's. Oh and I do believe that Climate Change is happening and we should not drill in the Artic Refuge.

pickleweed wrote:Since your smarter and you work harder, wouldn’t you do a better job fighting the war

Nope, not better than the guys I know that are over there fighting. They are harder warkers than I am that is for sure.

I guess where I am from we are not really rural but we are still blue collar. I have known a lot of people that have gone over some voluntarily 3 times. So I guess according to that we are rural. And I have been out to the cemetary where Tyler is. There are always fresh flowers and memorials to him.

Trula,

republican + natural resource major + environmentalist

In Oregon

Pretty sure thats a 1st?

Almost like peanut butter and jelly with hummus.

No offensive though, I don't make friends or enemies based on politics. Seriously thou that bums me out, your the future of our industry and the reps havent done a whole lot to help. In fact they often kill the funding for many jobs.

Youths in Rural U.S. Are Drawn To Military
Recruits' Job Worries Outweigh War Fears
By Ann Scott TysonWashington Post Staff Writer
Friday, November 4, 2005; Page A01

“As sustained combat in Iraq makes it harder than ever to fill the ranks of the all-volunteer force, newly released Pentagon demographic data show that the military is leaning heavily for recruits on economically depressed, rural areas where youths' need for jobs may outweigh the risks of going to war.
More than 44 percent of U.S. military recruits come from rural areas, Pentagon figures show. In contrast, 14 percent come from major cities. Youths living in the most sparsely populated Zip codes are 22 percent more likely to join the Army, with an opposite trend in cities.”
Many of today's recruits are financially strapped, with nearly half coming from lower-middle-class to poor households, according to new Pentagon data based on Zip codes and census estimates of mean household income. Nearly two-thirds of Army recruits in 2004 came from counties in which median household income is below the U.S.”

I'm sorry for your loss

But clearly Trula, it’s quite obvious, on this one,

Im sure Bethany has no interest in a Nam vet look a like but that was funny!

Spider bites are crazy. My dude was on a 3 month training at Pendleton in March and had a spider bite on his thigh that turned into cellulitus and ended up in his blood stream on fast track to his heart. He was hospitalized for a few weeks and sent home. After about a month of bedrest he came down with a rare form or Mono caused from the spiders poison getting into his Organs. He was hospitalized again for quite sometime and lost 17lbs in 2 weeks. Poor old fugger is just returning to work this week. Down over three months from a damn spider.

Have that sh*t looked at griz.
The service here sucks.
