Or like my cousin who at 17 years old...
straight A student...
accepted at a prestigious east coast college...
developed full blown schizophhrenia...
a life of drug use...
living on the street...
commitment to various institutions...
a lifetime of medication to quiet the voices...
now her parents are passing...
hopefully they arranged for her future...
sometimes life doesn't beat the krap out of you...
you just get dealt a bad hand.

I was going to bitch about a $77 ticket I had to pay for parking in the Dory zone of PC( no self respecting doryman would go out on a day when the swell is 15'@14secs), when there isn't a frigging boat with a chance of going out!!!

Doc killed that tho'.

Open Letter to My Bosses.

So you want me to get to "build my resume"? ... 2 years I have worked my bum off for you. Get called in, fill shifts that I am not trained for and then train new employees for them, work overtime for an entire summer, and work late. ... Just give me a good reference though for anyone who calls. I am looking for a new job that is more appropriate since I am just a girl. ....

Okay I feel a whole lot better now.

Life beats the crap out of everyone sometime. Everyone.

yes it is oversimplified. Rubbernecker pointed that out too.

Not everything needs to be spelled out to the infinite detail to get a point across.

Mental disease....is not a choice.

Drug addiction as a result of mental disorder is not exactly what I am talking about.

And yes, you could make the argument that all drug abuse is the result of metal illness, however I do not bu that.

Having been in those trenches, and experiencing it's effects personally, I can say that from my experienced perspective, it is just not so.

As far as not having anyone around to point you in the right direction..well...

A man walks to the edge of the abyss. He stares in. He sees empty nothingness staring back.

It is at that point that the man defines his character.

Not everyone gets to win.

That is a fact of life.

Not everyone gets to win.

And you cannot legislate the idea that everyone gets a trophy.

In life there are winners, and there are losers, and in most cases, the cause of each is the same.

Trula, its good that you have the experience in tractor riding and operating riding mowers....but in the job fields those sort of experiences are necessary, those skills being put to use come with tenure. Your boss did not care that you had those skills, he hired you so that he and the other folks who had been around for sometime could lean back and mow while you and the other park aids, or what ever your title, clean shitters and pick up cigarette butts. Someone has to do it. It really chaps my hide when some young assface comes into my company expecting to get away with doing all the cush work and thinking they will share the grunt with the old boys.

Learn to appreciate your place on the food chain and maybe you will make it to the tractor wrung. And take some advice from a woman in a mans work field: Never go into a new position with an attitude that you are equal or can do something better then the current staff, especially if they are primarily men. Im not saying dont have self respect and be proud of your abilities...but ease into it. Prove yourself over time. No one likes a show up and no one respects a girl who cant respect the ladder of tenure.
The service here sucks.

there is nothing wrong with doing all kinds of work - like clean the toilets etc, but why is it - still- ok (and somewhat expected) that women have to work ten times harder than men?

Becuase of the natural assumption that women do not posess the same brain functions that men have that allow them to conduct business the same way. There have been numerous studies on women and men and how thier brains function in the workplace. They do not work the same way.

Not true at all. Its been proven that good looking people are thought of as more trustworthy and intelligent than not as attractive people.
A lot of employers look for good looking people to represent thier company becuase they know how the people on the other side of the table think..
Models are used to show off products becuase marketers know you will spand time staring at the girl, also absorbing and remembering the company name they represent. When you have good feelings about this beautiful girl, they often carry over to the comapny.
