What pisses me off...........

This forum is for SURF topics such as localism and rants that are usually negative in nature. If you're a baby, complainer, or generally think you're right and everyone else is wrong this is the place for you. PLEASE NOTE, all forum rules still apply, but just a little more liberally enforced. Registration is required.

Agreed.
Our September has been a July.

Nuclear North winds.
Fog.
Small wind swell with minimal ground swell.

Aye ayeyai.

I'm just now getting back into surfing though so I'm fine with a July warm up before something sizable comes forth.

Problem its often now or never for those early fall sanbars. October is often epic, but it can also be a total wash out. 3 or so years ago we had are largest rain event of the winter in mid Oct. Hoping it stays HP till Nov though.

I heard the first weekend in October is supposed to be the best swell of the year between mid and north Oregon.
My sources are weak, however, as they are magical invisible fairies.

The majority of all the sand bars all completely suck on the N. Coast right now. That heavy wind just digs holes in the sand which makes for chit bars.

I'm still dreaming of an Indian Summer though.
Hopefully we can get some of that offshore flow at some point.

tonight was the first night in a very, very long time that the waves looked so good, I wanted to surf. My wife just started a new job working 3pm-11pm, so here I sit, watching one kiddo and waiting for the next to get home so we can have dinner, do homework and get to bed, while only a few blocks away, somebody gets barreled in glassy shorebreak as the sun sets with only three local heads in the water.

It's called "doin' time"

...and you will be handsomely rewarded with great, loving kids and many ,many glassy sessions in the not so distant future.

We have been scrambling the last 2wks trying to get things lined up for the move to VA. Listing the house, getting the movers lined up, planning a vacay, looking at rentals in VA, and faxing/emailing assorted paperwork only to get a call early monday morning from the soon-to-be employer, "uh, sorry to have to tell you this but due to our current, desperate financial situation, I'm afraid we're gonna have to recind our offer." "Oh.., ok.., thanks," as I hang up the phone. Haven't decided yet if I should feel pissed or blessed...
