When Epitaph started churning out formulaic punk in the early 90s... Just an opinion but to me that stuff sounds way too polished and manufactured. Nofx sound like a boy-band these days. May as well listen to the Jonas Brothers.

Sorry ,man. I still dig it to an extent. I love early Bad Religion and Nofx. Its just such a shame the way it 'progressed.' I listened to Screeching Weasel the other day and that cracked me up. I do have a taste for some of that stuff.

Oh and I know its only a matter of time before the little one is begging me to take her to see the Jonas Brothers.. I may as well surrender.

Ohh the days of scoring the free sampler cd's of Fat Wreck Chords latest w/ NOFX, MXPX, Less Than Jake, Pennywise, Lagwagon and The Offspring at all the local skate shops!

I didn't grow up with the dirty, start-of-it-all 80's punk. That stuff was the punk music I was running around doing ollies, jumping trash cans and smoking cigarette butts to...

I liked a lot of the stuff comming out then from PW, Bad Religion, NOFX, Lag Wagon, Face to Face, etc. It's best termed pusssy punk. But the style/flavor less polished, started in SoCal back in the early 80's with the Decendents, one of my favs and a great and highly respected band.

This just opened a whole can of whoop @ss in my office.

All those are dialed up with a little Goldfinger, Operation Ivy, Skankin' Pickle, Voodoo Glow Skulls, No Use For A Name, Diesel Boy, Screeching Weasel, Chixdiggit!...back to 97' bitches!
:D

I however, have never stopped listening to Mad Caddies. Definitely one of the best post-punk bands out there. Falling Down is straight murder!

Cant say I've really kept up with the genra since those days, the early 90's. But one pretty cool post Y2K punk album I've come across is Against Me, The Reinvention of Axle Rose.

i loved the Descendants also. we just didn't need a dozen cloned version of one great band.

1997? Man, i think most of it was done by then. How about Death? 1974....

Against Me is a real.ly great band.. screw labels.. they play some great rock n roll..

another post Y2K punk band I LOVE is Rise Against. They are more of melodic punk crossed with screamo/hardcore, but they can really up the adrenaline for me, and their lyrics are hand in hand with my views of the world.

Never heard of em, but sounds pretty good and some decent hooks. Not quite hard enough though and a bit to rock and rolley. I'd call it pusyish punk : )
