Got booted from a bar last night for making a scene. After it came to be known that this chick I was sitting amongst;
that she was recently discovered pregnant,
I politely suggested that she probably shouldn't be smoking and drinking.

Then a couple yuppy kook ivory tower philosophy undergrads had to put in their two cents and decided to turn it into a Women's Lib deal. They put in that there has been studies that suggest a pregnant woman can have up to a glass of wine a day and what a woman does with her own body is up to her. Be that as is may, I ain't never heard of a study suggesting smokings okay for unborn babies and she certainly had more than one glass. So the imp of the perverse was sitting on my shoulder and reminded me that if there is anything I hate more than some stupid dipshit rationalizing drinking while carrying a child in her womb it would have to be two other dipshits supposedly trained in logic making an even more absurd rationalization for her. So needless to say, the bartender had to intervene and said I was out while they were welcome to stay.
So what else can you do in such a ludicrous situation other than say "peace, hope your baby turns out to be healthy," and walk away?

Thanks for fighting the good fight. It blows my mind that people are so fukking selfish and small minded that they can justify drinking and smoking while their OWN BABY forms inside of them. You can find a study to prove anything, but it is obvious to anyone with half a brain that pollutants like alcohol and nicotine can do serious damage to something as fragile as a developing baby brain (I mean look at Doc..as he said his mother did both and he can't write two sentences on the same line - haha). Sure a person can do those things and wind up with a perfectly healthy baby, but does anyone doubt that you exponentially raise your chances of health issues in your baby by drinking and smoking? So why smoke and drink? How about just dropping it on its head when it's born too?
