Understood. I guess Irish stew, a meat pie or a falafel would probably be as close as you can get over there. Heard the Brits have sucky food. True? My ancestors are Welsh. All the way back to the Mayflower and beyond. Glad you got some waves.

That's nothing, I'm directly related to Charlemange and his not oft spoken of mistress Yrid the Iron Boar.
Surf sucked last weekend. Weekend before was pretty good. Speel's bbq was a goodtime and thanks again for having us.

The ocean kicked my arse today. I got out early to walk across a beach and clamber along the rocks for a right hand point in the lee of a wind that never showed up. It looked mellow from above and I was in the mood for something different but the minus tide, 10' swell and ripping current denied me access. Got swept 200 yards down the point in about 30 seconds and into a cluster of rocks I had made note to avoid. Made the walk of shame back to the car and drove to that spot's left handed sister, it was nearly as surly and just as empty. I made it out but only to want back in after an hour or so. I took several cleanup sets on the brim and made a few OH drops into bouncy closeouts, glad to be on dry land. If this is Christmas in July I musta been naughty.

might clean up before it fades though...

Tatonka

your experience makes me glad...
I didn't go surf today...
So close to triggering...
And suspect it would have been...
Brutal.

Wind seems to be kicking in, time to enjoy summer activities away from the beach.

I was looking at that spot the other day thinking it looked kinda fun. Never paddled out there. Back in the days of the old OSP there was a picture taken from the water of a guy on the wave there.

Me I was tied down with enough scattered obligations and surf guilt to be tempted but not suit up. There were waves. Tomorrow will be a two sesh day.

Low tides and decent swell helped a few outer bars light up yesterday. Nice OH sets, short waits, kinda lonely. Looks like it is doing it again this AM. Gotta go.

Went searching for double rainbow barrels. 2 sessions @ 2 spots yielded an ice cream cone on the head. Yuck.

Wha, Charlemagne single handedly kept muslims from overtaking Christiandom. I might add that we would all be wearing turbans if it weren't for that great greatgreat...greatgrandaddy of mine. So you can all thank him vicariously through me if you wish, I don't mind.

To stay on subject, I might surf this weekend. Might not, cause I'm kind of tired from the Tourd' france. Thinking of going up top, to Saddle Mtn instead.

YACHATS, Ore. -- The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a surfer Wednesday afternoon from waters off Yachats.

The Coast Guard was dispatched via a call from the Yachats Fire Department on a report of a 45-year-old man who had fallen off his board in heavy surf.

A 47-foot motor lifeboat was sent from Yaquina Bay, as well a shore crew and a helicopter.

The man was hoisted to safety aboard the helicopter. He was flown to a parking lot and treated for exposure.

As I understand it, that was Speel in an act of desperation once the reality of becoming a val had a chance to sink in...

The exposure part is more related to him being a perv.
