Big Island video news is an awesome website. There's plenty room in Hilo for SUP paddling in Hilo bay and out to keaukaha/four-mile/Richardson's. Surfing on SUP is a different story. Bayfront is a long wave but as the video says it only breaks on the occasional big North swell wrap. I used to lifeguard at Honolii and it is not a very large place to cram in all the surfers with some SUPs thrown in there. If the SUPs have any balls they'll paddle outside the breakwall on a big swell and surf the break outside.
I like Mayor Billy Kenoi's words, what a joker he is. I don't always agree with him politically but he has some words of wisdom in this video. "We go talk on the beach next time, that's one healing place the water."
You running and you running
But you can't run away from yourself
