longest day of the year. beautiful afternoon and sunset. probably 70+ at ib at 6p. tide pulled out just enough to turn a couple of mushy spots into peaks. water almost too warm for my suit. Enough waves to keep the the clammering hoard sated, or at least confused. had a nice left open up where I could cruise the line while watching folks scatter. always fun. then vortex at ft. george. good stuff.
that's the view from my mother in-law's kitchen...

Ran over to Indian this morning.
Incomnig tide. Sets were a bit juicy, but I was reminded why I hate Indian.
It was also apparent that my hiatus from surfing over the last couple of years, or the 22 oz T-bones, or the excessive smoking....has really not done me any favors.
After my less than stellar session, I visited with Mark for a bit, then enjoyed a nice drive down the coast a bit.

fun waves on the central coast on Saturday. We spent too long searching so it was pretty blown by the time we got in the water. A few nice ones came through. I was on tippy's pintail lightweight and, boy, that's a nice surfboard.

Bought a sea kayak, I'm back in BC. Might be a needed surf hiatus.

Nothing quite like a late Thursday afternoon at SS.

Got in the water around 4:00, was surprised about the size of surf. Chest to shoulder high waves with occassional rogue sets overhead. The long period kept the sets fairly consistent and waves were fun even on the outgoing tide.

The water was the warmest I had felt in a while, I would say damn near 61 degrees. Took the gloves off and could have gone without the booties as well.

High pressure kicked in a bit early on the coast so plenty of sun with guys out in the water past 9:00. Local crew descended on 2nd creek and absolutely killed it. I was between 3rd creek and the North end most of the daY/night.

Nope...just guys that live on the coast. One of my buddies lives just south of Manzanita.
