Slightly Stoopid - bootleg from 9/21/01...

I just saw these guys in Eugene on Saturday night and was reminded how much I used to be addicted to them. They are so friggin talented and play such a tight set that ranges all over the map from thrash metal to speed punk to acoustic rock n roll and always with a solid foundation of roots and dancehall reggae and even a little hip hop. They were on top of their game, put on a solid show, and as a result I am on a Stoopid marathon ever since.

Like the T-shirt my wife bought says...Im with Stoopid!

Losing Balance - http://www.myspace.com/losingbalance (their recorded music is much more polished than their live shows which are breakneck to say the least!)

This is from their myspace page:

About losingbalance
Not that long ago in a land not that far away, four spastic kids collaberated to create what it is now known today as Losing Balance. Born in the basements of Hood River, OR after the fall of such bands as the Sh1t Whistles and Peepshow, Losing Balance moved down to San Diego in the fall of 98........ We are a band that takes pride in our live shows and make it a point to not let you leave dissapointed. We love to put on a good show. Not in a flashy, cute poppy bouncy la la way where you and your girlfriend can cuddle up in the corner and fall in love all over again....kind more like a "woops, our singer just swung his microphone around, knocked over your beer on to your girlfriend so now it looks like she urinated all over her designer jeans" kind of way.

The Sh1t Whistles - http://www.myspace.com/theshitwhistles (this is actually the former band of most of the Losing Balance members)

From their myspace page:

About theshi1whistles
the idea formed in late 1993 out of boredom and a propensity for debauchery, these 5 strapping young lads decided to bring a bit of punk rock to the otherwise grungy columbia river gorge. playing in basements for groups of drunk hood river kids drove them to linger in inebriated mediocrity. many feel that they never truly reached their potential, others just thought they were loud and obnoxious. either way the sh1twhistles felt they had done something other than sit on the sidelines and allow other bands in the area the right to define what youth in the gorge was. all names will be witheld due to the fragility of employment, respect to families and possible political careers. not a peep has been heard of this quintet until now. the stage has been set. a pilgrimage to the musty underbelly of portland oregon will again see this group of misfits and has-beens, shed their past to adorn their otherwise bland lives in the name of self-satisfaction. a one time deal and then........gone forever. sw. post script - burn the gov't to the fuhking ground.

I WILL SEE YOU THERE!!

I am listening to the voices inside my head telling me to bring a gun to work tomorrow
So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

An Anthrax cover of DRI's "Snap" and "I'd Rather Be Sleeping"
Violence has resolved more conflicts that anything else.
The contrary opinion that violence doesn't solve anything is merely wishful thinking at its worst.
