whats the deal with UFC?

Postby HessXXpress » Sun Dec 17, 2006 8:58 pm

so we all get plenty of exposure to UFC whether we want to or not. when are people gonna realize that Pride Fighting is way more entertaining then the UFC. dont get me wrong I have a UFC gathering at my house once a month but almost every night I catch a pride fighting match that comes completely random with no advertising or anything and every fight is better then the last. I would much rather spend forty bucks a showing on guys that are still willing to go for the gusto and fight til the match is over. every time I watch a UFC now a days the fighters poop out barely past the first round leaving the unruley mob in my living room demanding satisfaction. Id gladly make the switch but it seems like every body has been brain washed by the glitz and glammer of the UFC hipe agenda and every body has just settled. "WHATS THE DEAL WITH THAT?"

As the popularity of the UFC rises, they become subject to more criticism. The refs are stopping fights way to early now, especially in comparison to the early 90's UFC. Pride fighting allows fighters to kick their opponent when he's down. Definitely entertaining. BUt then again, some people might enjoy watching a cougar fight three dogs. Or even a pack of midget cavemen fighting a neanderthal. As for all the popularity in the UFC, take it for what its worth and enjoy the hyped fights. Im looking forward to seeing the ice-man slaughter tito.

A friend of mine in Mission Beach trains some of these fighters.
Diego Sanchez is one. I went surfing with a few of em and it was effen hilarious. He's actually training De La Joja (sp?) right now.
It always amazes me how dangerious some very ordinary looking people are. I used to watch some of the UFC back in the 90's but haven't seen any of em since then.
Kinda hard tellin not knowin. .

I watched in the 90's as well, but they are way to hyped now. Ive gone to a few lameass fights at the casinos around here, nothing like what we used to watch in highschool.

This reminds me of my younger years and my infatuation with violence.
I used to watch faces of death forwards, backwards and frame by frame.

Well I meant the UFC in the early 90's, but yeah....lunch room brawls were always fun.

I'm not a big fan of UFC it's kind of gay actually too much men wrestling around on the floor with their arms over eachother... Seems to be more of a boogy boarder thing...

no offence Gup.
So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

Boxing is more of a sport, UFC is cool but the whole wrestling on the ground is lame, boxing offers more entertainment value in my books, I'm more impressed by the foot work and combinations in boxing. BUt whatever makes you happy.
