The shock doctrine - I was told that this is a really good book
The kite runner - another one to pick up...
Haven't read either yet... If you have, let me know what you think...

I think it was abolished to gain statehood. The Mormons picked the lesser of two evils, either denounce polygamy, or go to war with the United States. If Washington hadn't insisted they denounce it, they never would have.

Pra is right. But also, the vast majority of Mormans at the time did not subscribe to it. IT was controversial from the get go. But a solid one third of the 'text' is pro polygamy and the modern mormon church is denying what the prophet said. A lot of it.

501 Minutes to Christ, Poe Ballantine
Enjoying it, But I'm tempted to walk out the door with all my cash in my pocket and head for the bus station with an eventual destination of a residential hotel in any unspecified city. And repeat.
Not unlike the old days, cant' go there (again).
The story called "Gods Day", nice!
Published locally too.

Bowhunting.
Now...Wilburette has taken a liking to an author. Not sure what to make of it just yet.
The first book is "Crank".
Now she is all stoked as she just bought another of the authors offerings, "Glass".
aparently it involves some abused child-come drug addict- come teenage mother- tragedy.
Interesting.
