Grails

Why I stubbornly refused to listen to this Portland based band until now, I don't know but I regret it...

If Sabbath met Godspeed... spiced up with some psych rock and world music influences you might get The Grails.

they played these songs constantly out here on the radio. I like these acoustic versions better than the poppy-radio versions. Its always a bonus when the singer/songwriter is a cutie

Tristan Prettyman - Hello
Just got the album today on iTunes. Not too bad but then again I listen to Jack Johnson and Mason Jennings. There was a very funny SNL skit about Jack, John Mayer, and Dave Matthews this week.

The Raconteurs - Consolers of The Lonley

The last song 'Carolina Drama' is amazing. Jack White is at his best when he is telling a story.

The first couple songs rock pretty hard too...

i just heard this song today
if you havent heard it, listen
http://countrymusic.about.com/library/blhm-ocean.htm

easily one of the most beautiful, simple songs i've ever heard

lyrics:
title-ocean
I think I'll go down to the ocean
I think I'll go down and lie by the sea
Sit alone and watch the waves break
I don't think I'm ever going to leave
To leave, to leave

Find a girl that looks like an angel
Take her home just to be by your side
The kind of girl you'd love to marry
Someday to be your brand new bride
Your brand new bride

I think I'll go down to the ocean
I think I'll go down and lie by the sea
Sit alone and watch the waves break
I don't think I'm ever going to leave
to leave, to leave, to leave, to leave
to leave, to leave, to leave, to leave

Well I know I've got this mission
Things to do and things to say, every day
And if you give your heart permission
I know you'd feel the same old way
The same same way

I think I'll go down to the ocean
I think I'll go down and lie by the sea
Sit alone and watch the sun set
I don't think I'm ever going to leave
to leave, to leave, to leave, to leave
She'll be waiting by the shore
And I will be, I don't wanna be alone anymore

I think I'll go down to the ocean
Did I mention that I'm doing your mom?

John Hammond's steel guitar

I was somewhat conscious during their set @ Coachella last weekend...f*cking amazing to say the least....the new album is insane. Such a killer musician for the age when anyone British with a guitar is getting airplay.
Boardriding is about timing and style...It’s youthful, active, casual, and free flowing. There is no wrong way to ride a board. The goal is simply to learn, progress, improve, and give it your own interpretation.

BLACK TIDE

These guys are throwbacks to the halcyon days of metal. Hammet style shredding guitar riffs, with Mustain meets Dickinson meets Halford vocals all wrapped up in a 15 year old frontman. Unreal!
