Whats messed up is that he of course was distraught over me taking him from his previous owner. He's kind of insecure and klingy right now.

I live 2.5 stories up, the bottom story of the small complex I live in is half underground. My back deck is covered with good sized walls and is covered, so my wife cleaned it up and made him a bed to relax on while he got used to things,...

Well I had this dog in my house for no more than one minute and owned him for no more than 15 minutes when I took him to the back porch and took him off leash. I turned around for a second, only to look back and see him jump over the side of the deck.

"NOOOOOOO!" was all I could manage as I lunged for him and missed. I looked at my wife who was ghost white with her hands over her mouth.
I hear a yelp from below and the first thing that pops into my head is "how am I going to get rid of a 60 pound body around here?"

Finally I look down to see his butt going around the corner of the building.
I run down and he see's me and stops. I walk up to him and he throws up everywhere.
I let him back inside and layed him down. Gave him a thorough looking over and found no obvious signs of broken bones, lacerations, blood.. nothing.

He spends the next 4 hours breathing hard and sleeping from the adrenaline and the stress.

I figured I just payed 40 bucks for this dog and I wasnt going to call a vet afterhours and rack up 4000 worth of medical bills.
I kept an eye on him and gave him regular checks praying for no internal bleeding or injury. By about 12:30am the next day he managed (barely) to pick himsef up to go to the bathroom outside and a quick walk to stretch his sore muscles.
The next day you wouldn't have known anything happened. He's quickly becoming the hyper happy 1 year old he should be. He's very insecure right now though and won't let me leave his sight.
He doesn't bark, jump on you or tear things up. Seems to be very smart.
Except for the part where he tried to fly home.
I'll try to get a pic up.
and,
He has a vet appt later this week for a full exam

Either you have a redeeming quality or you just got an "adopt a dog" to try and get the page to like you.....
