This forum is for SURF topics such as localism and rants that are usually negative in nature. If you're a baby, complainer, or generally think you're right and everyone else is wrong this is the place for you. PLEASE NOTE, all forum rules still apply, but just a little more liberally enforced. Registration is required.

Never one to talk poorly of my
family
but.....
I believe the correct vernacular is.....
COMMUNITY.
...just as many non-surfers have stepped up to "help" Cole, as surfers have.
And yes.....hopefully the community will offer some help to the skater, as well.

I wouldn't ask for help for non life threatening surf specific injury. I would if I required a copious amount of blood though. If the situation were switched; well, I did for someone who surfs. I don't think impetus would have been provided me, because of another from a community I don't feel a connection to beyond the human experience. For that I just give blood when the van is around. It's not much but it's something.
I wish insurance were easier to come by but it's not easy. I empathize with others to whom it doesn't come to easily also.
And I definitely consider this when I take controlled risks.

Either way. I was just running with Doc's theme. I prefer the term community also.

If it make you feel better, its raining on the other half of the equator as well..
I wonder, when the polarity of our planet flips as they are predicting for the near future, will the seasons flip as well?.....100 deg is feb and 10 in august..

Post # 420, Fire it up!
thanks I fell a little better now. But how did we go from a scorching heat wave to this soggy dankness? It's like it can never just be nice.

My personal favorite...
Without details...
Was a guy who was hiking with my brother in law in the early 80's...
In the Jefferson wilderness...
My bro didn't know him very well...
They were hiking in and a guy passed them going up the trail...
On a motorcycle...
Which was not permitted even then...
They reached the basin...
And as they hiked further in came upon the biker...
He was drinking beer and had broken bottles as he finished them...
The guy that was hiking pulled a handgun out of his pack and in stride...
Put 2 bullets into the guys motorcycle...
And kept walking.
My last trip into a formerly pristine wilderness area had lots of shite & tp everywhere...so I concur about the general idiocy of many "campers" these days...pretty lame
