Sunday evening I am lounging on the couch downstairs.
The sliding door open and listening to the wind in the trees out back.
I hear a noise as if the wind is knocking something around.
I mute the TV and discover the noise is not from the wind.
I ease the screen open and tip toe out onto the lower deck and peer into the dim moon lit expanse of our back yard.
J joins me, sleepy from the couch, and asks what it is.
I point to a tree line near the bottom of our yard.
Two figures wrestle eachother briefly and the sound of clashing antlers, rustling leaves at the hoof, and grunts meander up the yard to us.
They stop.
Touch antlers again.
Then one walks off.
It's colder in the mornings now.
Your electric car runs on coal. Think about it....
