What pisses me off...........

This forum is for SURF topics such as localism and rants that are usually negative in nature. If you're a baby, complainer, or generally think you're right and everyone else is wrong this is the place for you. PLEASE NOTE, all forum rules still apply, but just a little more liberally enforced. Registration is required.

The mortal wound received by our country on Fri. from the passing of the cap and trade bill in the house. It should sail through the senate as they are even worse than the house. 1300 pages and most weren't allowed to see the bill and they had 3 hours for debate. Plus more pages were being added after the vote. Get ready to have your life micro-managed.

Yeah...there was maybe 2 dozen people...maybe....

These people are so delusional. Check out their IMC crap. I looked around in their website.....delusional....

I'm not saying that the fur biz is not ugly, or that it is decent...all I am saying is these people are tools.

i looked up their website.

it really says something about your group...

when you can take subject matter as offensive as foie gras and commercial fur...

and still leave readers unmoved...

and put off.

Kudos to 'em for getting a lot of morally superior causes all wrapped up in one event, though.

The IMC came out of the wake of the WTO protests in 99. Any 'group' can set one up. You'll see they are all over the world now. It is 99% leftist but in theory it is created by user-based content. It is as good or bad as the people who participate in it and its usefulness is cyclical, like the OSP or any other internet based source of networking and news. Ultimately, it is supposed to democratize local news ("Don't criticize the media, become the media") but of course, certain viewpoints are going to get shut down pretty quick. It is mostly used by other leftists and the police to see what people are talking about and when the next potential riot is.

Wilbur, you should dive in and test how democratic it really is.

I plan to test the waters more.

I did pose a couple of things for them, one was an invitation to interview one of the protesters from Sunday night to understand there tactics and their cause more...no word from anyone yet...

the other was a blatant criticism of their point of view. It was deleted.

So much for the "free" press...
