the new billabong flick, still filthy is pretty ridiculous if you're into that high octane shredding. which i am, among other styles.

anyway, AI's turn at 30:15 is hands down the most bitchin' turn i have ever seen. period. and i'm not really an AI fan. bruce on the other hand...

'Where The Wild Things Are.'

Two weekends ago Pra and I were watching the preview for "Where the Wild Things Are" at the movie theater, when the preview was done we sat looking at eachother with wide eyes and grins; grins as far as our ears. The next preview wasn't a preview at all, it was the movie.....Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, scoreskees!

I just saw Wild THings, I was overhyped going in and held high expectations. Visually and acoustically it was the best movie I have ever seen, but as far as the story goes... I felt like it was created by an 8 year old elliot smith. It was too heavy and wishy-washy. It had some cute parts, and some youthful angst that was well choreographed, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. Spike Jonze probably had an idea and executed that idea to a tee, but his tee was not mine.

maybe i thought it was going to be the sequel to YEAH RIGHT

exactly.

don't think too hard about it... just go along for the emotional rollercoaster ride.

there's no plot- it is the true definition of 'flight of fancy.' at least you had more insight into that the WW reviewer.

consult your inner 8 yr old Rocky. emotions are very 'heavy' at max's age.

look at the monsters as 'personifications' of max's emotions.

normally, i wouldn't go to much length to defend a film but i think too many grown-@ss people are looking too hard for some profound revelations about the imagination, coming of age and all that other sh*t with this film.

Took the kids to see Where the Wild Things Are based on some bad advice.

It's a good movie, for adults. I mean, it's based on a book with about ten sentences and cartoons, and they stretched it to two hours.

it's a talky, arty, adult movie... Not a family fun adventure. Well done, neat sets and scenes and stuff, but about as much fun as watching Kramer Vs. Kramer.

Informant! is another funny, smart, and well acted film. I'm always curious to see any of Steven Soderbergh's work...

Cashback. I got this becasue is was a dark comedy and had a hot chick on the cover topless...I mean any chance to see a hot chick topless with some humor is a win in my mind. It was actually a really good british comedy...kind of arty, and it had hot chick bush.

The Holiday-total chick flick, but actually an excellent movie, touching and funny

Yes Man-good idea, decent execution, worth it but not amazing, has good things to say, positive

Frost/Nixon-made it about 45min before i decided it was too boring to watch, i want my 45 min back

Finally saw 'Inglorious Basterds.'

The only negative is that it could do without a bit more context or background. I'd recommend watching 'Schindler's List' or 'The Pianist' or reading 'Five Years in The Warsaw Ghetto' or Ann Frank's Diary beforehand to build yourself up some good old fashioned Nazi hate. Make your blood boil with anti-Nazism before you settle into it.

If you studied WWII and sat down and had fantasies about what you'd have done should you have come across a Nazi, this film will take you on a fantastical cartoon like romp through some amoral violence.

That's not to say the characters aren't expertly crafted and the dialogue is as good as anything I've seen.

It has to be Taratino's Magnum Opus.
