Conditions have been good except the cold but still haven’t had that magic session yet this month. No chance to get out the last few day though but that will change tomorrow. Really surprised at the lack of reports on this board lately.

Did not go today, left my gear out side last night. Wetsuit and booties iced up.

I'll report four sessions in 6 days of absolute perfection from an LB perspective (and even the guy on a fish just ripping). I'm positive that equally good steep waves were nearby. For me it was lightheartedness in the water, nose rides on the homeshape, epic creedles, slight offshore winds, and lots and lots of sunshine. I was glad I've built up enough fat to ward off most of the chill.

Maybe one day I'll surf in canada again.

True test of the Patagonia 5 mm 'Wooly' suit.
Merino wool in a wetsuit
Pure genius.
Been out 7 days in a row.
Can honestly say
I have not been anything
but comfortably warm

Never even felt a chill.
Just my face

Face felt like it was burning from the pain of cold offshores
But every other part of me was toasty.

5 mm booties
2 mm gloves
No worries.

I'm a believer.

what can be said that hasn't been said 1000 times before? got my first barrel yesterday. i've died and gone to heaven. i am blissed. 8 out of 9 days. thaw the wetsuit each night by the wood stove. wool sox under booties. crappy gloves, crappy suit. its 100% worth it.

Speel-- With a go out like that you should just give it up.

wool socks work.
And a thin wool shirt under your suit works even better.
If you suit sucks---try it.
