Car Camping - Central Coast

The Oregon Coast is about a 3 hour drive so I usually stay the night. I was wondering if there are better options than the Beverly Beach campground on the Central Coast.

Busted...yes I'm from Bend and PC is where all the Bendites seem to go, and of course I always run into someone I know when I go there. But I prefer it down south.

I have an inconspicuous van to sleep in and would like to find a cheap bivy closer to Otter Rock. Beverly C.G. is $21 for a tent site which seems like a lot and I bet they won't let you sleep in your car (I don't know this for sure, but I have had that problem at other camp ground tent sites). And I'm not a big fan of the crowed RV camping scene so I was hoping there were other less obvious options.

i sleep in my truck up and down the coast non-stop. find a dark little pull out, a quiet neighborhood, an entrance to a logging road, the possibilities are limitless really...

I seen people camp there, but wasn't sure if it was okay since the signs prohibits it between midnight and 4. I guess people just don't get harassed? I'd like to find a spot like that about 30 mile south.

I slept in a Subaru around that area many years ago. Just take MC's advise, lots of places to park. Plenty of big empty parking lots as well.

find a big log at low tide. sleep under it. no one will ever find you.
