they were of that ilk where the clothes are tight, the belts are leather, and the clothing is all black, brown, tan, and olive drab. Plenty of tan skin showing, dreads natty but not filthy, dirt under the fingernails, tall linemans boots... the ubiquitous dog on a carabiner...

okay-i'm stoked that yesterday my team paddled up the wakulla and finally found not 1...not 2...but 5 manatees.
i even touched one as she passed under us.
that's pretty rare.
and cool.
(my team manager wasn't too stoked on the big gators though.)
