this place is broken

Postby grizldoldfk » Sat Jan 15, 2011 12:55 am

when and why did it change? it seems like the new format did some major damage. and that was after the other damage done by the other new-now old-format. and that was f-d after the acquisition of the page by some anonymous investor(s) after some kook who started the whole sellout of oregon surfing sold it for what at the time was a crazy walkaway package that any true oregon surfer would be jealous of (myself at the top of the list). something like ten g's is what i heard, but disregard all that. that is ancient history. and no one even cares.
this place is broken.
no one posts here anymore, and when they (we) do, it's irrelevant and boring, and so no one responds and posts lie dormant until they die completely. why?
wilbur is gone. betty is gone. shite, even nm and even bluesilver are gone...well, not nm, but she's apparently hooked up to gaz who has some connection to all this shite and even he rarely posts. i gotta give the guy cred for trying to occasionally shock some life into this dead horse with his very true surf reports and whatnot, but still...the place has c-h-a-n-g-e-d...
it's fn sad. and i used to actually love to hate it. now i don't even care.
and i bet i'm not alone.
i really don't think it has anything to do with the season, or lack of surf (b/c the surf's epic somewhere-but don't tell me! and for god sakes don't tell the fn internets!) and i don't think it has anything to do with the generations of former kooks now wave masters moving on to bigger better turf. i don't think it is even realated to facebook, blogs, iphones, webcams or any of that shite.
yeah, i know, speelyie moved to the valley (poor fckr) and other guys moved to the interior and back east. betty is married now. that's kinda sad-but happy for her husband probably...
my girl trula is a gun toting canuck (how do you spell that?...you know...canadian...) and wilbur is a biker dude. and to all i've forgotten, wtf? why have i forgotten?...
because this place is creating forgotten memories.
do you guys even remember tequila sunrise (that bastard! good riddance!)
i implore the powers that be to give this issue some attention. f christian bullock. and f the commercial interests that stuck an infected stick up the rectum of this forum.
there are waves in oregon (and i don't give a fack about waves in california!) and the barneys who choose to freeze their azzes off to ride like tin men and geezers on mediocre sub standard waves deserve more than a pixie cupworth of respect. respect!
what ever happened to respect!?
omg. f!
wtF!

agree or disagree?

oh-and you should check out my blog! it's sick! and t-shirts and stickers are available.

AGREE! Thank god i'm finally sober enough to type. This forum blows but oldfuk you got to look at it this way, there were only about 10 of us that carried this bitch anyway and we all know each other...How many times can you talk the same story?

I think they are making another blue crush. We are effed. Actually you are effed, the only time the OSP (notice the caps out of respect) is interesting to me is when I leave Oregon.

and in my opinion, the neck beard line can be drawn by doing this:

tuck your chin to your chest.
if you are a stout drinker, then for sure you will see where the whiskers begin to overlap.

that is the line.

are you shaving above the line?(that's crazy! disgusting and amazingly innovative! what a disgusting fashion concept that is sure to catch on!)
are you shaving the neck and leaving the face stuff? please say no.

if you must shave, and again, this is just my opinion...shave it all or leave it all.

what kindof stout?
you know i'm a sheaf guy myself. but my options arelimited by my location and income.

It's those damned blogs! And we need embed capabilities, having links is just too archiac for a forum any more.

And yeah we have all met the shadow puppets we are. Most any way, still got a few to catch up with..... :D

Shave clean from the jaw line up. Let the rest grow below. Neck beard = p*ssy magnet.

i think i'm aiming for a 'thoreau.' it hides the double chin, protects from neoprene rash, curren briefly sported something similar in 80s, dane reynolds has a surfboard named after the neck beard (i'm presuming due to the tail shape) and its not played out in pdx yet.

2010 was all about the tumb tail...
2011 will be about the neck beard...

griz, i was drinking elyssian 'dragsontooth' from WA. it was on sale. haven't had much stout this winter but now i have a neck beard, i can probably dare to indulge a bit more... cheers everyone!

Wow...I came here wanting to read an adventure from SooLoo. With the flooding I figured he shoudl be trying another tow surf down the river again...but i found this thread instead...

You want to know what's wrong with this place?

Me.

SooLoo is right, only about 10 people actually carried this place but even before then it was me that drew everyone in.

Don't fight it, it's a fact.

And it was me that killed it.

Like a freakin hamster eating it's young.

98% of you guys got sucked in by my ramblings, inane stories, complete lies, and anonymous aggression. And it was good....man was it ever good. It got red hot and was fabulous. We were all addicted to this thing we fed into and it fed us somehow.

It served us for exactly what we needed it for and wanted it for.

Everything went wrong when we all did what would only naturally occur.....we put faces to names, ripped the lone ranger's mask off, and actually made it personal.

Big freakin mistake.

Not that I regret ever knowing any of you, or letting any of you know me....but things got hairy man. I made some wonderful friendships, got really personal, and even made some pretty seriously bad decisions....and when it all went wrong...when it got ot be too much...I lost it.

I melted down.

And not having any other place in my life to vent what I was going through, I took it out on this place and all of you. I self destructed and tried to take as many of you and as much of this place as I could on my decent into hell.

Everything got stupid.
Everyone got stupid.

Man...if I could take it all back and stand face to face with some of you it would be awesome.

But I know longer can hold my head high amongst some of you. Your opinions of me, or should I say, my opinions of you, mean to much to me.

I talked a big game, and most of it was true...but there was this thing headed at me that I never saw coming.

Maybe this place was my shot at making this surf thing actually make sense for me. I don't know.

I miss surfing.
I miss some of you.
And I certainly miss the times we all shared when we woudl get together or run into each other in the water or on the sand.

I let loose and ranted and raved and this place came together.
I lost control, got stupid, and this place went right along with me.

I don;t think I am all that important to it....just saying what was real. At least the way I see it.

I don't surf much anymore.
Still got the Con.
Sold the butter stick to get a duck boat.
Two wetsuits hang in the garage, and my Dakine sack houses some dried out booties and gloves.

I have a Magic Seaweed app on my Droid and check the conditions most days, but three of the four 'home' spots on my front page are given to Malibu, Sebastian Inlet, and South Beach.

I read Mark's reports each day and even got out to see him the other day. Though I was more interested in that small .44 revolver than I was any of the boards.

I miss surfing.
I miss some of you.
I miss this place.
I miss the anonymity.
And I miss the trailer......
