Well it could get good and the header would be wrong...

That would obviously make it March Madness...as in Mad Barrels, Mad Backside Airs, ETC...which I am going to hold out hope for.

I'm zero for March due to a snowboarding injury. Sadness indeed.

Shame about that Holddown...how long are you out of commission? Hope you get back in the water soon!

My boys were out today, said Mushies looked pretty sick. If you don't know...don't ask.

Sup yall..... been a while. Is it me or does everyone look a little bloated after the last 2 or so weeks?

But while I’m here….. ah yes March surf sadness. Perfect Gaz. I call it chowder season. Chowds for all u brahahas.

After Feb's nugs the skunk cabbage starts blooming figuratively and literally and the conditions and swells are pretty junky. Size and period drops, sure good for the beachies, but the wind can never make up its damn freakin mind up, blowing every which way in a day usually averaging westerly, aka the Devil Wind. Gales are common from multi directions, so the sand never gets a chance to set. It’s still very wet, almost wetter then the middle of winter, and those storms often have no associated swells. And then there’s Spring Break and all that noise.

But hey the days get longer next week and things start growing and while gas goes up to price levels we’ve never seen, weeds cheaper than ever. But better yet March means time to book a tickey, dig those boardies out of the closet, and follow those big red blobs down south in the coming months.

Otherwise make it work I guess.

Tex, I'm out until my shoulder regains enough strength to surf. I tried to shortboard on Sunday, but no go. I'll have to start with the log, maybe when the weather clears. Until then it's swimming & river sweeping.

Nothing wrong with a log as long as you ride it like a man!

Couldn't figure why the hell there were so many cars parked all over the coast range at dawn this morning. I thought maybe bear season or free buffet at Camp 18...?

Rolled down and into a ghost town, pulled up in the lot and got blasted by the siren and then a emergency service announcement over the speaker in English and Spanish...wtf!? I had no idea, drove from Portland and arrived at nearly the exact minute they forecast the thing to arrive. Great timing.
There's a few other cars in the lot, looks like a bit of a peanut gallery, the riff raff that show up because they're told not to, they're stoked to see some carnage.
Watched the first two surges with my engine running ready to bail to the head.Came and went, no drama.

Sketched me out and I headed for the hills. Thoughts out to Japan.

Interesting. Surprised they didn’t have any signage or road blocks coming into town?

My Mom called me at like 4AM telling me not to go surfing…… Wasn’t really planning on it. Looked like it would just been a waste of gas money?

Good practice exercise ether way. Only a matter of time till we get the big one.

Funny, my mom did the same thing around 2:00 AM.

I was a little worried about my brother down in Venice, right on the beach....but all good in CA.

I was parked at the Elderberry Inn at 1:30 in the morning fixing some camp coffee......What do we see heading to the coast?? Portlanders with small sticks in tow, what a sight to behold made for good humor and story while waiting this event to run out.....
