Better yet, dont be shy to tell people about the dangers of being there if you see them.
Pride is a strange thing in people. I dont know how many times I had it happen that people who clearly did not have any business out in big swells for example would follow me down the beach and I would suggest they stay on the inside or something, only to have them get pissed and offended. More than a couple of time I would have to spend time getting their dumb @ss back to the beach, with them being non the bit wiser and still with the attitude I was just being a jerk.
I guess the thing is that if they see one or two people out there, be it a jetty or big surf, and they feel that it is somehow safe. Natural selection works for me, but as stated above, it could just mean we would be denied access as well.
"I have to overcome that safety mechanism that wants to rise up in me and to keep me from doing something that could kill me."
"Everything’s okay until it isn’t."
