Just kidding - I don't need you to block for me.

I DO need someone to pick up a demo at Cleanline the night before a morning session and ideally do a spot check or two. Then if you can tell me where to park so I won't get my tires slashed and maybe surf nearby that'd be great. I don't really want formal instruction but if that's your thing, fine. In sum, I need a guide/body man who will meet me somewhere within 2hrs of Portland and make sure to call my wife after I get bit by a shark and bleed out on the beach. I can pay in redbull or mickey ultras or edibles but I also know how to use venmo (I am not young enough to use cash app). Any takers?

Also, I'm a competent surfer (advanced beginner / intermediate) feeling the itch of orange on surfline after almost two years of injuries limiting water time and know how to keep out of the way of better riders. I moved to Portland from Boston about three years ago so have tons of reps in short period windswell slop but don't know much about the OR coast aside from Indian Beach and Short Sands and it would be great to get help from someone with local knowledge. Googling "surf guide Oregon" is useless so any recs from a wise OG is appreciated.

Kidding aside, the only web results for "surf lesson Oregon" feature pics of little kids standing on soft tops in the sunshine. I'm an old man who wants to surf in the rain so need a guide/instructor who can tolerate my crustiness (and maybe help me find a reasonably sufficient board for whatever waves I can scrounge).

Funny recently heard about paid "blockers" being a real thing. Some of pros hire blockers at spots like Trestles. Buddy and I have a few tactics we have been using to help each other out at crowded Sands.

Fall hurricane swell at rocky point breaks are a New England treasure. Moments like this are super fickle and maybe only last for a morning but they can be genuinely world class. I miss it bad.

I have hired "guides" in N. County San Diego....it was cool, just pointing out nuances of local spots. Well worth the $80.00 bucks. Enjoy the waves Rize...you will have a good time. What part of PDX are you settled in? There are a ton of spots in WA that would give you a taste of home.
