Thanks NMM, please post how you do those so I can read them to the roll, while it is in a willing mood. Don't make it too long a workout I can still feel the effects from reading yesterdays! Starting to get eyestrain might have to take the day off!

Nmm is a brazillionaire!!! No wonder she keeps in good shape, note that in 2005 she swam in a pool measured in meters now in 2006 she has gone English. Who has the kind of scratch to squash their pools the extra 3" per yard to piss off the Frenchies----only brazillionaires.

I have been secretly training to match her workouts, however it's all for naught as I have been left back in the stone age in my old school pool, it is quite disheartening to say the least, well off for a small warm sherry after my sub par workout.

What about surfin'???

Postby To'skookin » Mon Jan 09, 2006 1:27 pm

I just read this thread, and wonder why no one said, "just surf" A lot. There is a lot of good info on getting/staying in shape, and surf ability was pointed out, but... I know guys who fully ascribe to the "Eat, Drink, and be merry" routine, but when it come time to surf they are on it.

This is my thought on the above - these guys surfed hours daily in their youth and got it into there bones, or more percisely (Pardon my spelling, or lack there of, but I'm too lazy to spell check) thier muscle memory. Granted, staying in shape would help them more, but there is no physical substitute for experience. "Reading" the situation - and being able to do something about it - is a main key.

My "advice" would be - for those who didn't/haven't/don't have the experience of being "on it" every chance/day - get in the ocean every chance you get. The more you know, the more you know.

tO

Ps. I know you may think this a no brainer, but maybe there are some here who might be encouraged just to get in the water and see what they can see.

I agree Two Scrotum. There really is no substitute. And from surfing from when I was 14 to now, I have deep muscle memory. My problem is not being able to be in the water as much as I once was, coupled with being heavier than I like, and generally lazy it creates a challenge.

Mine is not a result of lack of experience in the water, just not as much time as I once had.

I have no idea what NMM's problem is.....maybe just a bit of masochism.
