R.L. Burnside "Wish I was in heaven sitting down"
True blues man. Went on trial in the 60s for manslaughter after killing his wife's lover. Judge asked if he killed the man.
Burnside's reply: "I just shot him in the head. His dying was between him and God."
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- 'WOW, what a ride!!!'"
