You're Intrepid...
And you have a GoPro...
However...
That last wave does not match...
The previous 3.

I don't always longboard, Doc.

Just like you don't always end a sentence with an ellipses.

Back from a long hiatus.
I despise any wave riding that require handles, jet-skis, paddles or lying prone.
In the water I am a conservative, redneck, caveman.
Out of the water I'm a bleeding heart, lib that fights injustice in it's many forms (unless it means I have to get off the couch).
I ride a log in waves under chest high, but I hate myself for it later
I skate way more than I surf, thanks to the Pacific ocean going basically flat down here for the past few months.
I grew up in southernmost LA county, surfing breaks that will not be named here.
I spent my formative years waxing windows, deflating tires, fighting with OTs, and generally being an a-hole to anyone who didn't grow up within a 10 block radius of my home break.
Followed the Dead around the west coast for a couple of tours.
Lived in the Central Coast of Oregon for a minute. Left before Lincoln City skatepark got built.
Got stoned with deaf paul at Burnside a month ago.
I love yoga and puppy breath

What's up everyone? Just moved to the Portland area from Arizona. While in AZ, I made the quick trip to San Diego quite a bit to surf. By no means am I a pro or even an intermediate surfer, but I can ride when conditions are good enough. That being said, what is the best spot for me to go? I have read a little on Indian Beach, Short Sands and Cannon. What's the best place for a beginner type?

San Diego is probably still your best bet.

Uhhhhh, I am new to these forums, And hoping to make some motherfucking friends to surf with. I am a desert transplant (kook) with a love for the water, and all things connected. I have been in the Lincoln City area for around a year now. So, if you f@*ks aren't too busy, I would enjoy a hate infused response...

Hate filled response: "Beat it, kook!" Ummm, yeah. Good luck man. This place isn't too active. You'll make 'friends' the first time you paddle out on a soft-top at your local beach break, guaranteed.

Oh no, no soft-top for this kook, picked up a Northwest surf designs shaped by S. Rowley. I have actually been somewhat accepted- for now, as I am well versed in etiquette... Just a little too kooky, nobody wants to befriend the kook. Well, thank you for the response Squid. Ill keep beating the bushes. NEED A SURF FRIEND GOD DAMNIT!
