Does 11/13 count as officially winter? We never did a Fall Forum....and, where did the PC Webcam go?

Checking out the PC Cam day before Thanksgiving, some clean little swell lines running today. I hope the OSP is fully represented out there!

Winter, no one surfs in the winter around here. Besides it almost dry January.

Been getting out quite a bit of late.
I always forget to talk about it though.
But some sunny day surfs this past week.
Headed to Mex for a month in January.
Not a surf trip per se but hopefully...
Gonna get a week or two coastal in Oaxaca.
We shall see...
I have no illusions of scoring but...
It'd be nice to get a few waves in.

Sounds like my mindset when I head up to the SoJdF most months..."maybe I will score...maybe". Hope you get a couple Doc, have a great trip!

I was there for that session, but didn't think to represent the OSP. Sorry about that!

Saw quite a few broken leashes this past week, plus a couple cleaved boards. Mostly smiles though...

Guess its technically Winter tomorrow, but has certainly felt like it for weeks now. After a lack luster fall with a few moments here and there, that was a pretty memorable run from Thanksgiving though early December. Had some of my longest OR waves in as far as I can remember, 200 yards? That LP W combined with insanely good conditions and sand bars stirred up from the early cyclones made for some epic waves. Was cold though! 34 and offshore made for some chilly early go outs. Walked across a frozen parking lot one morning.

Dusted off the 7'2" Art jah-fun-gun and was good to reunite. Had the 5'10" hipster twin out in the kind of waves the twin fins were probably designed for. Also took twiny to the face which gave me a good shiner. That was fun explaining at work.... but no ding, good glass job I guess.

Been a few weeks now but been surfing white waves a bit with the early snow. This W the next few days is going to be massive and might be a window for XXL reefs. I'll be watching.

Happy Holiwaves!

Current forecast for 12/23 is 23@21. If i was more stoned that would be a palindrome! We'll see if that holds, but it's been pretty consistent so far. Is Nelscott Reef Classic still a thing?

that forecast would def seem like it would trigger Nelscott if it was still going. I went to that comp a couple times....pretty bad @ss to see some heavyweights in 3D.

Not sure it came through. Looked pretty vic at sea to me here in beav state. SJDF secret cams looked small too? To west? Guessing JR was cooking. Always hard to tell.

Been dry for weeks..... that run earlier this month seems like all but a dream now. Looks like a window NYE.

After 20 years in Oregon, I've traded state income tax for sales tax and moved to Seattle. Long drives, not much surf. Just got a 6'3 from San Diego with what seems like way too much foam. Went to Canada for the new year. There were indeed waves. Talked hockey and secret spots on NYE with a self proclaimed JR loc who loves Trump, hates Trudeau, and hugged me when I left the bar. USA beat Canada 4-1.

Damn SV, good to hear from you!

Seattle, my old hometown....grew up on QA, was at the Kraken/Canucks game last night!

I bet you will be surfing mostly SoJDF ;)

Maybe Westport and or La Push.

What hood did you land in?

Killed a bit of a wicked dry spell today and 1st surf of the New Year. That said, have not exactly sircome to the valley rot working on my bottom to top turn combo on white waves.... Still unacceptable but mostly to blame a persistent bout of hurricane strength low pressure onslaughts.

Oddly quiet for a Sun am with 7-8 foot swell and light winds forecasted. Had me thinking no one else had surfed as long as I and hung it up. Dry January perhaps? Can't say it was going off, swell a bit lumpy, but serviceable walls some kinda long. Air and water were quite warm and the sun even peaked though a sucker hole for a bit.

Just what the doctor ordered and last session before entering a new era of a 5 day in office work week with the caveat of a 5-4-9 with every other Friday off and off course it's gonna pump next 4 days. Where theres a will there's a way but god dam how did I get myself into this. See you on Fridays I guess.

Funny, pumps all week and then goes to shittt come weekend. Never fails it seems. No way I was going to sit in an stupid office all week and miss out on classic Juneuary conditions, one of my favorite windows to catch. So pulled some strings, took PTO, and caught the tail end of the LP swell and a shift change at the infamous. HH and boney at low, but pretty fun on the 5'11" chonk 80s shorty. Little bouncy and back washy on the drops making it tricky and bucked a few times, but as the tide turned found a rhythm putting together some fun ones. Passed on a good one and an opportunity I should of capitalized on late in the session that I am still thinking about

Side story, had my 2 SB's but no fins. Had not surfed these boards since a tropo trip back in Nov and forgot to pack to fins! Had to buy new set opting for NVS Album quads that felt a loosely goosey. While the fronts are quite large, rears are a little small. Had a few spicey felling tuns, but thruster would of been a better option for this sash. These might go better in jah fun gun with a much longer rail line and purchased with a new stick in mind that I've been thinking about ordering this year, but that is TBD now I am on a 5 day lock down.

Hoping for some good conditions for the 3-day MLK weekend, next weekend. Would love to get some consecutive days and dial into some sort of rhythm. Looks like its gonna get cold with an artic air mass dropping!
