The original Oregon Surf website was created in 1996 by a surfer and high school teacher mearly as a hobby. Back then (practically pre-historic in web years) it was a bare bones site simply known as the Oregon Surf Page (the OSP). It was the first site to offer the Oregon surf community a public forum, and boy did they embrace it, in all its dysfunctional glory.

In 2003 the site changed hands and has evolved over time, but its intent has remained the same since day one: to provide resources and a public forum to Oregon's surfing community. And it's ok to still call it the OSP. I do.
